Faith

My thought for the day ...

Hebrews 11:6:
"So, you see, it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that there is a God and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him"

The way that I read this, is that faith must be an integral part of everything we do .. at least if we are trying to please God. So let me ask you, if you attempt some action believeing in faith that it will please God or believe in faith that He has asked of you, is your faith any less if you fail at it, or any greater if you suceed?

The Lord tells us directly that "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" (Mt 26:41).

I think my point is this: if we attempt something in faith, but our flesh crumbles under the presure, that our attempt pleases the Lord to some degree since it was done in faith.

I am not sure whether "winning" or "loosing" is really the point here. Our Father in Heaven determines the outcome of all contests. Its more about where our hearts are at when we are winning and loosing.
