The Father's Heart and Mind

Its often said to me that when you remember something, that what you are experiencing is a gift from the Holy Father. Some call it the "Gift of Remembrance". I have found this to be true. And when I thank the Father for reminding me of something, I find myself becoming closer to Him. Its like recognizing the gift and thanking Him for it, becomes a tool of sorts for getting closer to Him. But I say that remembrance is not the only gift we get on a regular basis. I say that when you look upon your friends and cherish their good qualities, or when you look upon your children in adoration and love, or - even better - when you look past the negative qualities of another person to see the true goodness that God has placed in them .. that when you do these things and remember the Lord and His work that you start to develop a mind and heart like his. I say that it is this type of thinking and thanking (Him) that brings you closer to Him in your daily life and particularly in your prayer time. I say ask for help from Jesus to train your mind to be constantly aware of the presence of the Father's heart and mind and you will soon become very close to Him. And He will delight in your thanksgiving because its the love, patience and mercy that He has for those around you that He shares with you - all so that you will remember Him and draw closer to Him. He is constantly beckoning you, and when you hear His call in your heart and look up, you'll see Him!

Victory!

I recieved a win today on something that i've been praying for. Its been about 2 weeks or so and the Lord delivered. As is my nature though, I don't feel I hit the mark that the Lord wanted me to hit through prayer. I felt like a real break through was at my finger tips and then it was snatched away. Kind of depressing. The victory today I believe is due more to God's grace, kindness, and mercy than anything else. But I guess that's the way its supposed to be :-)

My point: Keep praying. Keep knocking and the door will be open.

Remember Luke 11:8:
"But I tell you this – though he won't do it as a friend, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you what you want so his reputation won't be damaged."

Sometimes I think that my dogs love pig ears more than they love me. They have learned that they can have two each night. I give in to them the first time each night that they ask me. Then I try to hold out and not give them any more because the pig ears are not good for their digestion. However, now that they know that they will get two in a night, they will bug me and bug me until I give in and give them their second one. They truely are relentless in their pursuit for pig ears. I have two dogs and they work in tandem. One will get up in my face, while the other stands by the cupboard where the pig ears are at. The one in my face will run up to the cupboard and show me where they are (like I forgot or something) and the other will run back to me to make sure I'm getting up. It goes on and on like this. Its cute for the first 3 minutes of the game, but after 20 minutes my patience is gone and I get up and give them their darn pig ears. This may have been what Jesus was talking about in 11:8.
