Zondervan "Blank Bible"

I just found this out on Zondervan's site. In January 2009, Zondervan will be realeasing (what I call) a blank bible version of the NIV New Testament. According to their web site, the NIV New Testament (Noteworthy Collection) will contain blank right hand pages, an accordian pocket on the inside for extra storage, and an elastic band over the cover to keep everything in place. For those not familiar with "Blank Bibles", these are bibles with empty pages in between the pages of the bible text, which allow for extensive note taking. Its a wide margin bible gone wild in other words :-).

This sounds like it will be a pretty cool product for those of us who like to write a lot in their bibles. This will also be available in The New NIV (TNIV) translation.

Yet another Bible translation

I found this while surfing the web. Not sure what LOLCat Speak is, but someone is translating the Bible in it. This will have to go on the shelf next to my Klingon Language Version and the Cotton Patch Version of the New Testament :-)

Trusting in God's Greater Plans for You by Cliff Young

I just read a great article on Crosswalk.com called "Trusting in God's Greater Plans". It talks about stepping up to God's call on your life and taking advantage of those little opportunities He gives you. Great read!

Oh My God .. Christian Testimony

Hola! What an amazing couple of weeks its been. Its been a struggle lately because I'm feeling like I'm not in the calling that the Lord has for me. I'm dealing with fealings of frustration, hopelessness, depression, and self disappointment. Honestly, I'm feeling very frustrated with myself thinking that I don't seem to be able to pull off this life of faith that everyone else is living. And wouldn't you know it, people are coming out of the WOODWORK telling me about someone they know got saved, then immediately headed off for their new life serving the Lord. And here I sit still struggling with the same old demons and feeling more and more like a failure.

But once again, the Lord has the situation COMPLETELY in hand. He has started to lead me to all kinds of Christian testimony. And I wanted to share some of the links to the neat things I've found so far. Normally, I wouldn't think I would need to hear any more Christian testimony since I've been saved for 4 years now. But there is a passage in Revelation that says, "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony" (Rev 12:11). Overcame who, what? .. well I think that means those personal demons I mentioned earlier. I feel like I am living out that verse right now! Amazing!

The first testimony, was from a book called He Came to Set the Captives Free by Rebecca Brown. It is about a woman who climbs the ranks of a satanist church to become a national "Bride of Satan" and how the Lord interviened in her life, saved her, and delivered her from several demons. Its a wild ride, and according to some people the facts of the book are kind of sketchy so beware if you are inclined to check that one out.

BUT, as I was reading the reviews of that book on Amazon, someone else pointed out a book by Doreen Irvine called "Freed from Witchcraft". Again, another satanist witch saved, delivered, and sanctified by the Lord. Doreene was just one of these people who were dumped on at birth. She came from a very unloving, hostile home only to end up a stripper, prostitute, and hooked on drugs. And from that life style, she was seduced by the local satanist cult. The book does not appear to be in print any more, but it turns out that someone on YouTube has shared her testimony in a 16 part video series. Here is the first installment of that series.

Then I found another cool testimony from a guy who used to be involved with a gang. This guys name is Davey Falcus. His testimony of leaving the gang world and getting saved is pretty awesome too. Check it out here.

There is all kinds of testimony on YouTube. I feel like I've found an awesome tool for spiritual warfare here. Its awesome to see how the scriptures can just come alive.

Daily Verse

I'll be posting somewhat random verses from the Bible for the next few weeks. These are just verses that strike me during my normal reading time.

So to get started, here is one one that I've been flipping to every morning ...

This whole week, I've been battling some pretty heavy depression. Not sure exactly what I am depressed about, but this scripture has been quite uplifting for me ...

Proverbs 30:1-3 (NIV)
1 The sayings of Agur son of Jakeh - an oracle:
This man declared to Ithiel,
to Ithiel and to Ucal:

2 "I am the most ignorant of men;
I do not have a man's
understanding.
3 I have not learned wisdom,
nor have I knowledge of the Holy One.
